Fairytale of New York by Tex Perkins and Clare Bowditch

We have shown Fairytale of New York on Getalookatthis before and so some of you may have seen it already. In this post I would just like to add another version of the song. This time I have added the version by Tex Perkins ( Former lead singer of The Cruel Sea ) and Clare Bowditch ( another home grown Australian talent ). The duet by Tex and Clare was performed during a Rockwiz Christmas Special in December 2007.

For those of you who don’t know, Rockwiz is an Australian show aired on SBS Television. The show is a Rock Quiz ( hence the name Rockwiz ) and includes 2 teams each with 2 audience members and 1 musician who then answer a number of rock and music questions. It would have to be one of my favourite alltime shows, along with ABC Television’s equivalent show called Spicks and Specks. Anyway enough rambling and back to the music, enjoy!

The Hooters released “All you Zombies in 1985. The song is totally religious, however this is not the reason why I like it, I have just always thought that it’s a good sounding song ever since I first heard it back in the eighties.

When I ran across this video, I thought it was funny enough to post here. Maybe I have a warped sense of humour, but I did think this was just a little funny.

This song seems to have transended time, either that or things have always been tough. But seriously, with the way the world economy has crashed this would seem to be the most appropriate song for 2008-2009.

Some of these laws are absolutely crazy, this just makes me think that some of these early day politicians were definitely on some sort of happy weed. Or they just wanted to mess with our heads.

While on the subject of great songs from 1982, who could forget “Gloria” by Laura Branigan. I love this song, it always seems to take me back to those early teenage years.

1982 has to be one of mhy favourite years for classic 80’s songs. One of the best of 1982 would have to be Eye of the tiger by Survivor.

Sam, The thirsty Koala

Sam is the famous Koala who got a drink from a friendly Firefighter by the name of David Tree. She seems to have won a few hearts around the world. Apparently she grabbed the hand of David and drank 3 bottles of water.

Scariest trail ever found in Spain

This trail sure is about as scary a walking path that you would ever like to hike along. I don’t know why this trail was put here, but I would like to find out more about it.

On closer inspection of the video it appears that the path had something to do with an old irrigation or water supply system, and the path allowed the workers access to the control systems or for the building of the system to take place.
