Just a wild guess here… a natural substance (drug which can’t be patented) which helps rid people of their addiction to Heroin, Cocaine and Alcohol, tested and proven 10 years ago. What do you think the likelihood of this being extensively used, bearing in mind the tax on alcohol and the amount of money from the illicit drug trade finding it’s way in to the banks (estimated at about 1/2 trillion a pa) 0?

Phoenix Mars landing

First images and video have recently been provided of the Phoenix Mars landing. The Phoenix made a successful arrival on Mars Sunday evening, May 25.

The NASA spacecraft Phoenix landed in the Northern Polar Region of Mars and will begin three months examining a site and it’s likelihood of having frozen water.

The above video shows a pan by the spacecraft’s video device looking out across the Martian Polar Plains.

Man barricaded in No mans land

We previously stated in an earlier post that the Island of No Mans Land Fort was for sale for 20 Million Dollars. We have now learnt that this is not the asking price.

The story as related by BBC news is that the Island is up for sale by creditors KPMG, due to the fact that the company who owns the island is in receivership.

The asking price for the island is a mere 4 Million Pounds or approximately 7.85 Million US Dollars.

In an even more amazing twist for the historical island, the previous owner, property developer Harmesh Pooni has recently barricaded himself on the island and refused to allow anyone to land by boat or helicopter.

“In a statement, a KPMG spokeswoman, said: “Mr Pooni has never been the freeholder of No Man’s Land Fort but was a director of Bob’s Leisure Limited a company, which was the registered freeholder of the fort, having purchased it using monies borrowed from Lexi Holdings Plc.”

“Bob’s Leisure Limited went into administration on 26 October 2004 and Mr Pooni was made bankrupt on 23 January 2006.

“Lexi Holdings Plc were left as a creditor of Bob’s Leisure Limited as the loan had not been repaid.

“It is our view that Mr Pooni is trespassing on the fort.”

“Mr Pooni said he came out of bankruptcy in November 2006 and Bob’s Leisure Limited was “reconstituted” in December 2007.

He claims he has a legal right to benefit from the proceeds of the sale of the fort

The battle is now set to move from the high seas to the High Court as it is the subject of possession proceedings, which were transferred there on 5 March.”

Mysterious fanged fish found in pond in Utah

This mysterious fanged fish was found in pond in Utah. I don’t think I would like to go wading in that pond.

Four or five months ago I was swimming in our local river, as I was walking out of the water I felt this thing attacking my ankle, it was really latching on and biting me so I quickly got out of the water. Apparently it was a catfish and I had disturbed it’s breeding ring where it has it’s eggs laid.

When I got out of the water I had a small amount of blood dripping from my ankle and a few little bite marks. Somehow I don’t think that the fish in this video would have been quite so forgiving, you would really know it if it had latched on like the catfish did.

Anyways, my advise is stay out of the local ponds!

Airless tyres by Michelin, what has happened to them?

What has happened to these tyres. Apparently they were introduced to the world back in 2005. 3 years later and I have not seen any cars with them. They look like such a good idea and I thought they may have taken off by now.

The accompanying blurb says:-

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.

The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tires.

This is what great R&D will do, and just think of the impact on existing technology:
A.) no more air valves…
B.) no more air compressors at gas stations….
C.) no more repair kits…
D.) no more flats…

I was surprised to see the new Michelin tires though on an Audi in a Philadelphia Car show, but I guess the Germans do make the world’s best cars… they just cant win wars. So now I’ve both offended and pleased some Americans & Germans. Oh well, you can please some of the people etc. etc. Take the blue pill not the red one if it’s a problem.

If anybody can has these tyres or knows someone who has used them, we would really appreciate some information about how successful they are in real use day in day out.

If there is any justice in the US at all, there should a full and open inquiry in to this and other matters. If it’s found to be as bad as it seems, the people who benefited the most, should be held to account… then put up against the wall and shot.
