This is a very cool little illusion and the creator even shows you how it is done at the end.

Lego Donkey Kong, a retro masterpiece

Donkey kong was always the game I wanted as a kid, but it was $39.95 in about 1982-83, which for all of you people less then 30 years old was a crap load of money back then. I ended up getting a less expensive octapus game instead, I think it cost about $12-$15 and was OK but oh to have owned Donkey Kong.

Anyway a few of my friends owned it and I got to play from time to time.

Below is a working lego version that I found on Gearfuse.com a really neat site that I hadn’t seen until recently.

When I ran across this video, I thought it was funny enough to post here. Maybe I have a warped sense of humour, but I did think this was just a little funny.

Large Hadron Collider part 1

Video: YouTube

It’s finally happening, they are testing out the particle exelerator and we are all waiting with baited breath to see if we are still all going to be here tomorrow. No need to worry if you read a quote from CNET news as shown below.

Remember the fear that the Trinity test of the first atomic bomb in 1945 might ignite the atmosphere? The Large Hadron Collider, a massive particle accelerator 17 miles in circumference that will begin operation Wednesday, comes with its own apocalyptic possibility: teensy black holes with gravitational appetites voracious enough to swallow the Earth.
Images: Where particles, physics theories collide

But you can breathe easy, because some scientists believe that worry is just as baseless as the A-bomb’s flaming atmosphere.

Knitted Ferrari

Video: YouTube

This Ferrari was knitted by 22 year old art student Lauren Porter from London England. It took her 10 Months to complete. Better her than me, I don’t know if I would have the patience to have spent that much time, unless of course you coud stick a motor in it and take off down the street.

Worlds first scooter double backflip

This video shows some amazing footage of the relatively new craze of extreme scooter riding. It seems to have evolved so quickly. The best is saved for last so it is worth the few minutes of watching.

I guess most of us were fascinated by magnets as kids… some of us never grow up, and why should we?

Recharge Non-rechargeable Batteries in Seconds

July 22, 2008

Video: Metacafe

I spent a relative fortune on ‘Rechargeable’ batteries, which are worse than useless because not only do they not fully charge, but when charged, they discharged themselves within a couple of weeks… I should have used the ‘bunny’ batteries instead. Anyway, here’s another alternative I’ll experiment with.
