Panic Attack, A short movie by Federico Alvarez

Federico Alvarez used to be a relatively unknown filmamker from Uruguay. Not anymore after he produced a 4 minute and 49 seconds video and posted it on YouTube back in November 2009. Since then he has been offered a 33 Million Dollar budget to direct a full length movie. After watching Panic Attack ( Ataque de Pánico is the original name in Spanish ) I can easily see why some Hollywood companies would really want to snap up his services real quick.

Anyway, watch the movie and see what you think, Can’t wait to see what his full length movie will end up like.

Eurovision 2009 winner is Norway’s Alexander Rybak with Fairytale

The Eurovision Song Contest may not be everyones “Cup of Tea”, but for those of you who do like it here is the winner for 2009. The name is Alexander Rybak from Norway and his song is Fairytale.

Lego Donkey Kong, a retro masterpiece

Donkey kong was always the game I wanted as a kid, but it was $39.95 in about 1982-83, which for all of you people less then 30 years old was a crap load of money back then. I ended up getting a less expensive octapus game instead, I think it cost about $12-$15 and was OK but oh to have owned Donkey Kong.

Anyway a few of my friends owned it and I got to play from time to time.

Fairytale of New York by Tex Perkins and Clare Bowditch

We have shown Fairytale of New York on Getalookatthis before and so some of you may have seen it already. In this post I would just like to add another version of the song. This time I have added the version by Tex Perkins ( Former lead singer of The Cruel Sea ) and Clare Bowditch ( another home grown Australian talent ). The duet by Tex and Clare was performed during a Rockwiz Christmas Special in December 2007.

For those of you who don’t know, Rockwiz is an Australian show aired on SBS Television. The show is a Rock Quiz ( hence the name Rockwiz ) and includes 2 teams each with 2 audience members and 1 musician who then answer a number of rock and music questions. It would have to be one of my favourite alltime shows, along with ABC Television’s equivalent show called Spicks and Specks. Anyway enough rambling and back to the music, enjoy!
