Creationist insanity

There is only one thing that upsets me about this… individual, and that is he’s being allowed to fill kids heads with this stuff. The upside is, Darwin’s law will ironically extract it’s vengeance and he’ll be oblivious to how Stupid he is. The downside is, these people vote! Here’s a warning to the rest of you in the US… Vote or regret it because they are getting worse.

Buddha said, “God must love fools because he made so many”. I love quoting Buddha to religious nuts. Technically Buddhism is not a religion, and he reportedly said after a 49 day meditation session. “There is no God”. I did a 10 day Vipassana course once, had a look at the Universe, thought about it for a while, decided orange robes wasn’t my style and that I could live with perhaps a modified ego… but I will go back one day probably.

Speaking of philosophy, Douglas Adams said. “There is a theory which states that if anybody ever discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.”

Judging by the chap in the video, that’s already happened.

Douglas also gave us a metaphor for religions. “Imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, ‘This is an interesting world I find myself in, an interesting hole I find myself in, fits me rather neatly, doesn’t it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!’ This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it’s still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything’s going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for”.

Got something to say?
