Meteor Malaise

January 13, 2008

Originally I thought I’d do a post on the recent Peruvian Meteor Strike that left a 30m creator and resulted in some 200 people getting sick apparently from the noxious gases that emanated from the strike.

When looking at the crater I thought, wow, it doesn’t look as I expected it to look, you know, glassed over from the heat, very compacted soil at least etc.

We all know about the classic sites, you know the Dinosaur killer in the Yucatan, Mexico and the beautifully preserved Barringer, Arizona crater. So I went looking in Google Earth for other Impact Sites. And guess what, there were hundreds and hundreds, in one site alone it looked like there were hundreds.

POST CONTINUES
